Parenting Win!

Neither Marin nor I are feeling at our race day best right now (surprised?)

So,  when Andie carried her potty into the living room to sit and watch the show about going potty my first thought was. Thank goodness.  TV, you are my best friend :)

At only 2 and a half Andie is a champ at potty use. But that said she hasn't pooped in 2 days.  So at this point,  I'm just hoping she blows before the San Andres.

Washing Hands

The washing of hands has become an issue,  nay an ordeal, in my house. It could be worse,  but the die is cast and this is where our troubles have arisen.

We insist that Andie (and everyone) wash there hands before holding Millie. And lucky for us Andie had selected this issue for her unique (or let's be honest, possibly ubiquitous, I don't know that many toddlers) brand of unreasonable protest.

So we spend 10 to 20 minutes of each hour fighting about washing hands. Now,  spending 30% of your waking hours in the restroom is no big change for me,  but usually these are peaceful hours.

A few notes for any visitors: It is crucial that the soap be orange,  that is unless it is already orange,  then it must be in a different bathroom or perhaps 2 separate orange soaps are what is needed.  And please,  be sure to have the right towel for the drying of hands.  What is the right towel you ask.  It's not the one you are holding.  So get a different damn towel already or I'll scream.  Wait,  strike that,  screaming already. Still though,  get me my towel.  A different one.

Don't get me wrong.  I'm blessed. Andie is a great big sister.  I love my girls.  Just not a fan of hand washing time these days.

Mornings with Andie

I am sure today is the first of what is to be many many mornings with Andie. Marin and Millie are together in the hospital still,  so it's just me and Andie girl here at home this morning.

Now, granted,  we already had a complete and total breakdown because her cup was the wrong size,  but comparatively, I'd say we are having a good morning so far.

Having two kids is making a new baby a whole new experience.  So, on the bright side,  I'm not about to be bored by life anytime soon.

It's Matilda!

Marin just made the call.

Matilda (Millie) Moise Vaughn.

Umlat on the I, but I can't do that on my phone.

That's my new daughters name.  Woohoo.

No there can be no mistake

I'm a dad twice over. I'm still not sure I'm a grown up,  but I think two little daughters puts me solidly in the adult camp whether I like it or not.

Baby  has no official name yet.  Though there is a strong contender. (Millie?) She was born at 7:13 PM on August 28th, 2015.

She was 8 pounds 9.4 ounces in weight, 21.25 inches in length and boundless in love.

My heart grows and grows.

So it's me and 3 ladies now and I couldn't be happier (though I think I'm in for a wild ride in 8 to 10 years)

'The time has come,' the walrus said

'to talk of many things: of shoes and ships - and ceiling wax,  and cabbages and babies and holy hell we are having another one...

It's 9am on Friday August the 28th, 2015.

Baby 2 will be here in exactly 4 hours.

I'm excited to meet you little one.
